I'm looking for a printer than can print high quality 8 x 12s. It'll be a purchase of mine farther down the line but I'll be getting one soon. I get impatient waiting a week for my pictures to arrive from DeviantArt.

Here's the latest one from Epson. It'll handle 17"x22" prints with an 8 colour ink system (incl. 3 black) that won't break the bank. Seriously thinking about upgrading my Epson to this one...

Doesn't look all that bad to me. If only I had enough cash...haha. How much do the ink cartridges cost for that one? Any idea?

My current Epson uses a 4-cartridge system (beh!) and it costs around $50 to replace the set.

A full round of 9 cartridges for the 3880 would be about $540 at Atlex.com.

I send my prints to WHCC, I get a two day turn around time, no matter the size of the order. I love their press printed books. I sell more books than anything else, because of my books sales, I managed to stay in business last year. I heard the Mpix is good too. I know that you are looking for a printer, but at lease for me I would rather spend my time shooting than printing.

Really for the price of the printers and ink, It's cheaper to use a company like whcc or mpix. Unless you offer a service where you need on demand printing of your work, the money can be better spent on other equipment.

Of course thats just my opinion for what its worth.... good luck either way!
