Is this strong enough to cover the leading lines required photo for Unit 2??

I think the lines lead perfectly to the dog. Send it in.

Love the photo the leading lines work perfectly for me. Ive been going round and round on this one, its so easy to over analyze the subject and get into a state of thinking nothing is right. This one is GREAT.

We had taken the dogs to the beach yesterday to be able to run and play, and when I stopped trying so hard to capture 'just the right subject' it all became more fun and very the energy I had flowed more easily. Sometimes I think it is not that hard to make things more difficult for ourselves! This leading lines one was hard! I didn't want to do just train tracks, or fences. Glad the weather cooperated yesterday (as did the tide)!

Walter, my critic, would say, "If there were human prints alongside the dogs it would be so much better as leading lines would infer 2 lines side by side that trail away into one..."

And he would say it in the low, Paul Harvey, kinda way.

:)

I think this works really well for leading lines. Since this is rhino hide, here's what I'd change:

I think the slight strip of blue sky at the top is somewhat distracting. I find that when I shoot water scenes, I have to make a very conscious decision about the sky - either leave it in, or leave it out, but not "sort of" include it. Cropping it out would be possible, but might make the man seem too close to the top of the frame.

If there were ever another chance to shoot this, I'd use a lower angle - get down where you can get more detail in the first couple of footprints, which would then include more sky to silhouette the man and dog. I'd also try to keep the horizon straight.

Anyhow, I think it's a great, fun shot, and fits the assignment nicely :)

Here is my $.02. My eye was drawn to the man first then the dog (my eye was following the footprints but then the man sorta jumped out). I think this would be a much better picture if 1- like someone else stated, two sets of footprints or 2.- just the dog but a little closer. The dog is kinda small. Maybe zoom in a little, lose some of the footprints at the bottom but make the dog stand out a bit more.
