Great shot Heather. Love the flowers for foreground. Nice use of diagonal lines & shadows. You have used foreground, middle ground & background so well I feel like I could step into the image. I imagine you were very close to the flowers. The only thing that is a small distraction is the black rock in lower right corner (minor distraction). Great shot.

Thanks Charlie , I was very close to the flowers maybe two feet away and I had my tripod about 3 feet of the ground.
I struggled with the rock, I don't want to crop it out because of the composition, maybe I should lighten it some.

I like the flowers there. It gives it a "nice day at the beach" mood vs a Planet of the Apes desolation feel that I would have gotten without the patch of flowers.

I spent the whole trip trying to work hard on focal points in the front of my shots, the wildflowers that the PNW is famous for weren't really out so I had to really search for the shots each time.

There is absolutely nothing I don't like about this photo from the composition to the focused flower clump. Absolutely stunning. I could see it hanging over a sofa. Well done!
Well I can tell at least one thing that I hate about this photo and that is that it's not printed, framed, and hanging over my sofa. See see, not everything is perfect Donna.

I like the shot just as it is. The various layers of the scene add depth to the photo. It's a beautiful shot.

Very beautiful scene; I really like how the sky blends in and the fog is by the rocks. Do you have any of the same composition during magic hour?
