This man was a worker at Pere Lachaise cemetery. He helped tourists find graves also. Can I get some C&C on this as a candid portrait? Does this even work as a candid style or is it a bit awkward? I loved that he had a map in his hand of the cemetery because to me it showed what he did for a living. He was quite quirky and fun.

Also comments on the PP would be appreciated. I'm finally trying some "real" programs and would appreciate any comments on how I did evening out the exposure. His face was a bit darker in the original shot, but not too much, and I had to clone out a tourist.
TIA for critiques.

The photo is okay, but would have liked to see more of the statute.

I think candids like this always do better in B&W so there are less distractions, you can draw the viewer right to the man by the use of post processing, the map is a great touch, and I love that he has glasses on makes him look more scholarly. It's just a pity you didn't get a lower angle so you were eye level.

I think if more of the statue was shown it would have taken away from the subject in the photo and more towards the statue which really isnt what was being captured here.

Agree completely. I feel had the man been peering down at the camera it would seem more an environmental portrait with a cool quirkiness to it.
